Your Journey — Preview
Arrival and Alfama Twilight
You arrive in Lisbon and glide into the city, catching your first glimpse of its hills and pastel facades. After settling in, you wander down to the grand arcades of Praça do Comércio and feel the breeze off the Tagus. A leisurely lunch at Time Out Market gives a first taste of Portuguese flavors. In the afternoon, you climb toward Alfama, pausing at Portas do Sol as the rooftops glow gold. Evening brings a slow, candlelit dinner at Clube de Fado, where guitars and voices fill the tiny stone-walled room.
Castelo Views and Chiado Nights
Today unfolds in Lisbon’s historic heart. You climb toward Castelo de São Jorge, watching the streets narrow and the city fall away behind you. Inside the old Moorish walls, Lisbon’s rooftops and the river stretch like a painted map below. After lunch in a cozy Chiado taberna, you drift through its boutiques and tiled facades. Later, you ride a rattling tram and pause at a hilltop miradouro as the sky softens. Evening brings a refined dinner above the square at BAHR, with views across the city lights.
Sintra’s Palaces and Ramparts
You leave Lisbon by train, watching the city flatten into suburbs and then rise again into Sintra’s misty hills. The riot of color and turrets at Pena Palace feels like stepping into a storybook, with exotic trees and winding paths all around. After a tapas-style lunch in the village, you climb higher to the Moorish Castle. Its broken stone walls cling to the ridge, opening onto sweeping views over forest, palaces, and distant ocean. Evening brings you gently back to Lisbon for dinner with castle views above the city.
