Your Journey — Preview
Arrival and First Danube Glow
You land in Budapest and follow the quick drive into the city, watching tiled roofs and spires give way to grand boulevards. After dropping bags, you ease into the afternoon with coffee and cake under Gerbeaud’s chandeliers, then drift through central Pest toward St. Stephen’s Basilica. Inside, the soft light and soaring dome set the tone for the days ahead. Evening brings your first taste of hearty Hungarian cooking at Hungarikum Bisztró before a slow riverside stroll, where the Parliament and bridges shimmer across the Danube.
Markets, Jewish Quarter, Ruin Bars
Your second morning starts with the smells of fresh bread and coffee in a tucked-away bakery, then opens into the color and bustle of the Great Market Hall. Stalls overflow with paprika, cured meats, and strings of garlic, with simple counters upstairs serving hearty plates. In the afternoon, you cross into the historic Jewish Quarter to visit Dohány Street Synagogue and its quiet memorial courtyard. As evening falls, food trucks and neon lights in Kazinczy Street’s courtyards set the stage for a casual dinner and a late-night drink inside iconic ruin bar Szimpla Kert.
